Assistance to the maintenance in residence of the handicapped or old people

    No full text
International audienceThe maintenance at home of handicapped or old people poses two major problems: the safety of the persons and their autonomy. The project combines two approaches: remote monitoring for safety and functional substitution for autonomy. A system of remote monitoring makes it possible to the person to remain at home while taking advantage of a medical supervision remotely and thus of a good reactivity in the event of emergency. Functional substitution is ensured by a robotized assistant able to manipulate usual objects. The assistant contributes to the integration of a person with reduced mobility in a daily living environment. Originality of the project lies in the combination of a remote monitoring system with robotics

Assistance to the maintenance in residence of the handicapped or old people

National audienceThe maintenance in residence of handicapped or old people is an alternative to the hospitalization which answers the current tendency of reduction of the number of hospital beds. It poses two major problems: the safety of the people and their autonomy. To answer it, the AMaDom project combines two approaches: Remote monitoring, for safety and functional substitution for autonomy. A system of remote monitoring of patient in residence makes it possible to the people to remain at home while profiting from a medical supervision remotely and thus of a good reactivity in the event of urgency. In this project functional substitution is ensured by a robotized assistant of handling of objects. The assistant contributes to the integration of a person with reduced mobility in a usual environment. The originality of the project lies in the combination of an integrated system of remote monitoring with robotics. The capacities of mobility of the robot ensure, according to the phases or user's needs': a more robust detection of the alarming situations, a more robust transmission of alarms and ambulatory data of the patient towards the domestic station, a decision-making help after alarm and above all, a visual and auditive contact in the event of alarming situation between patient and a distant medical operator. The paper presents the state of works of the project for remote monitoring and functional substitution and develops the interest of making co-operate both services

Thermal signal analysis in smart home environment for detecting a human presence

    No full text
International audienceSmart Home environments have become an important research topic in recent years. This paper deals with human presence detection using an ubiquitous sensor. Various solutions and supervision systems require to extract information regarding people present in the monitored environment. So both academic and industrial labs are interesting by this subject. More so than most other object-detection and sensing tasks, human-sensing is a challenging endeavor for a variety of reasons. To detect the person entering in a supervised environment several technical solutions based on large physical phenomena are available. Each researchers team use specific sensors with adapted techniques. Sensors choice is linked to supervision system ai

MobileMii : mobile with many intelligence inside

International audienceThe goal of the MobileMii platform is to create a platform for world-class ICT research in ambient intelligence for the comfort and security in the place of life. Activities will build on research topics of the CEA-LIST and the Institut Mines-Telecom. Research will focus on major prospects of ambient intelligence at home and at work such as telecare, the activity monitoring (or surveillance) at the place of life, or smart assistance for work tasks. Specifically, it is to create a platform localized in buildings of NANO-INNOV and DIGITEO on the "Plateau de Saclay" in the South of Paris. This platform features hundred square meters including development zones, a showroom, and a realistic space for metrology equipment designed in laboratories. MobilMii also addresses a user-driven research whose objective is a short-term return on research investment. MobilMii will demonstrate the industrial relevance, performance of developments, with the idea to influence developments to meet specific needs, to develop resulting technologies developed, thus reducing time to market. This platform will promote exchanges with institutions and the regional community of national and international ambient intelligence community (scientific, industrial users). It will give opportunities for demonstrations in a realistic context and provide support equipment for future research projects. A major challenge of the platform is to develop innovative devices and services. The innovative nature will be generated thanks to the multidisciplinary technical teams, from CEA and Institut Mines-Telecom, acting together on a same place. This will be an opportunity to simultaneously develop services based on several technologies (communications, sensors, HMIs, reasoning, ...
